The Scorpio Races

From Goodreads: It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die.

At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.

Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen
Hardcover, 416 pages
Expected publication: October 18th 2011 by Scholastic Press

  1. I recently read Ballad and Lament, and I absolutely love Maggie Stiefvater's poetic writing style and beautiful imagery. Really looking forward to more of that in this new series, which sounds amazing!

  2. I love Maggie Stiefvater's writing style. The Scorpio Races’ premise is so different from the Shiver trilogy. I can't wait to see how everyone handles the first female rider in the races. Plus being a Scorpio, I'm a bit fond of the name :)

  9. Great giveaway! I'm most looking forward to meeting Puck. I like that one of the riders is going to be a girl, and one with such a cool name! I'm also wondering if there's a possibility of love between her a Sean. I smell a steamy romance coming!!
