Ditched: A Love Story

                      Ditched: A Love Story

                                                                  by

High school senior Justina Griffith was never the girl who dreamed of going to prom. Designer dresses and strappy heels? Not her thing. So she never expected her best friend, Ian Clark, to ask her.
Ian, who always passed her the baseball bat handle first.
Ian, who knew exactly when she needed red licorice.
Ian, who promised her the most amazing night at prom.
And then ditched her.
Now, as the sun rises over her small town, and with only the help of some opinionated ladies at the 7-Eleven, Justina must piece together — stain by stain on her thrift-store dress — exactly how she ended up dateless. A three-legged Chihuahua was involved. Along with a demolition derby-ready Cadillac. And there was that incident at the tattoo parlor. Plus the flying leap from Brian Sontag's moving car...
But to get the whole story, Justina will have to face the boy who ditched her. And discover if losing out at prom can ultimately lead to true love.
Filled with humor, charm, and romance, Ditched: A Love Story by debut novelist Robin Mellom will have readers dreaming of love on their own prom nights.
Hardcover, 288 pages

 (MY THOUGHTS)       5 HEARTS!!!!
Ditched is a book that when I started reading it, I was doing the eye roll thing, but found the corners of my mouth turning up into a big smile. Ditched is hilariously fantastic. I couldn't put this book down. Robin Mellom’s writing pulled me in and kept me so intrigued in the story that I had to find out what happen with Justina, the dress, and Ian. Mellom brought back all my memories of excessive behavior as a teenage girl as I was reading, and yes, my own eye rolls at myself.

Justina is an excessive fantasizer with an assumption problem that will give her one insane night at her prom. Also with her best friend Ian that she has started falling for after he brings her licorice, Motrin, and wearing that green shirt. Justina has her prom night all planned out—how she wants to show, and tell Ian that she wants to be more than just friends. But what starts out as her prefect fantasy of Ian and becoming his girlfriend turns into a prom night of horror.

Ian has promised Justina the best night of her life at their prom, her own personal stain fighter. But it’s the stains that will tell Justina's story of the prom night from hell and Ian Clark will become the scumbag jerk, and Allyson Moore will be Justina's parasite pal. It’s great to have an assumption problem and Justina’s fixing to find out when you assume things, you usually make an ass out of your own self.

Ditched is a love story that's full of fun and loads of laughs that kept me glued to till the end of Justina's night at prom, and if she’d get Ian and that green shirt that started it all. I recommend Ditched as a hilarious must read.
