True Intentions definitely had me biting my nails. Lisa Kuehne has penned an incredible trudging storyline where opposites do attract. I was teetering on the edge of my seat with the suspense between Ava and Sam. When you get to the end and think its going to happen for Ava and Sam, Kuehne gives you an intense cliffhanger. I will definitely be watching and waiting for the second book in the True Intentions series.

Sixteen-year-old Ava is going through a lot after her twin brother and father dies. But when she meets the bad boy at her new school, Sam, the most gorgeous boy she’s ever seen, she starts to feel safe. Like she can let love into her life again. Then she discovers Sam is not who she thought. Ava has a special gift; she can influence good, where Sam is the opposite, the tempter of evil. But Ava is determined her love for Sam will save him, and Sam is determined his love for Ava is going to protect her as they fight against the ultimate evil that’s trying to destroy them both.

There is a love triangle going on, and this is where Will comes in. Will is a gorgeous mystery I haven't made my mind up about yet. I'm looking forward to more of what his true intentions are in the next book. I definitely want to know what gorgeous Will is all about.

True Intentions is true to its title, the suspense and mystery of fining out everybody’s true intentions pulled me in and had my heart racing. I recommend as a must read.

Blood Rights (House of Comarre #1) By Kristen Painter

Blood Rights (House of Comarré, #1)

Blood Rights (House of Comarré #1)

The lacy gold mapped her entire body. A finely-wrought filigree of stars, vines, flowers, butterflies, ancient symbols and words ran from her feet, up her legs, over her narrow waist, spanned her chest and finished down her arms to the tips of her fingers.

Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle’s body bears the telltale marks of a comarré—a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world…and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks.

Now Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign.

Blood Rights is a Gothic Fantasy and it definitely surprised me. I’ll be honest; I wasn't sure about reading a gothic book. But I’m glad I did. Kristen Painter has made me love the darker fantasy. I would have really missed out on one the most deliciously wicked fantasies I’ve ever read. Painter is fantastic at writing dark. I'm still gushing over this awesome storyline with patron, comarre, and othernatural in this supernatural world. Blood Rights is the most fun I have had in a long time. I loved being pulled into a creepy setting and enjoying the dark and gritty surprised me. I love the beautiful gothic cover too.

Chrysabelle is a Commarre. Her blood is pure and gives power to vampires. For this proposes, she has been raised from birth for the Noble vampires. Chrysabelle is also a kick-butt warrior and when she has to run to American, because of trouble she’s in with the noble vampire, Chrysabelle hires Malkolm, who has been out casted and cursed by the noble vampires for killing his sire is Chrysabelle only hope. Malkolm is dark, dangerous and gorgeous. Definitely my kind of vampire.

Malkolm (Mal) and Chrysabelle has of love-hate romance going on. They both have fallen hard for each other, but not going to admit it to each other. I love the way Mal is so protective of Chrysabelle against anyone who tries to dishonor her. Chrysabelle and Mel's romance is hot even if it doesn’t get to first base in this first book. So of course I can't wait for the second book Flesh and Blood to see if this finally happens for them.

Blood Rights had me gripped into this wicked, twisted, and dark fantasy, and loving every passionate page. I highly recommend Blood Rights as a must read. And I'm so glad I will not have to wait long for the second book in this series Flesh and Blood should be coming out around 25 of Oct. 2011

The Secret Of Spruce Knoll (Channeler Series #1) by Heather McCorkle

The Secret Of Spruce Knoll

The Secret Of Spruce Knoll

It’s hard enough being a teenager under normal circumstances; imagine being orphaned, sent to live with an unfamiliar aunt—and learning that there really is magic in the world. Following the tragic death of her parents, Eren Donovan moves to Spruce Knoll to live with her aunt. Little does Eren know the entire town of Spruce Knoll is filled with “channelers”—a magical group of people who immigrated to the small Colorado town when they were driven out of their own lands.

Channelers are tied to the fate of the world. As the world slowly dies, so do they—and they alone have the power to stop the destruction of Earth. Now, Eren learns she not only lives among them, but she is one. When she meets local boy Aiden, his charm convinces her that being a channeler may not be all bad.

As Eren and Aiden’s relationship blooms, so too does a mystery in Spruce Knoll. The town holds many secrets—and many enemies. It soon becomes apparent that the untimely death of Eren’s parents-and Aidens-was no accident and that her life might be in danger, too. Only time will tell if Eren has the power to protect the people she has come to love.

(MY THOUGHTS)     5  STARS!!!!!
I’ve wanted The Secret of Spruce Knoll since I participated in a live chat with the author, Heather McCorkle. So I dove right into it when I received it in my mailbox. My intuitions about this novel didn't mislead me. McCorkle has penned an incredibly awesome story with amazing characters. McCorkle is a beautiful writer, by that I mean her writing flows with depth and strength and clarity. From the first page, I knew I was in for an intriguing fantasy with Eren and Aiden's story within the world of the Channelers. I also must salute McCorkle for her bravery—showing the reality of what teens face today, and then giving a positive way of dealing with it.

After the death of her parents, Eren moves to Spruce Knoll to live with an Aunt that she's never met. It doesn't take Eren long to figure out there’s something strange going on, and Eren being the strong-headed girl that she is, is going to find out what Spruce Knoll’s secrets are. Aiden is a drop-dead gorgeous boy that Eren starts to crush on, but she soon knows it’s more than just a crush. Aiden is her forever and her destiny—that together, they have the power to save the Channelers, Humans, and the earth.

Eren and Aiden romance is definitely more than teenage hormones. This is where I have to give praise again to Heather McCorkle. Aiden’s love for Eren is from the heart. He loves her as a person and respects her. Eren and Aiden romance is what I call true swoon and it’s deliciously hot.

I do want to talk about one more character. Fane. I love this fourteen-year-old. He is the fun in this story. He's ready to take on the world and defend Eren's honor. Fane is so protective of Eren even Aiden has to be on his best behavior. I can't wait see more of Fane in the next book, he gave me lots of laughs.

The Secret of Spruce Knoll is beautifully written and has an awesome storyline. I highly recommend as a must read.

Ember is dynamite! That’s how I felt after reading this book—like I’ve been sitting on a keg of dynamite for the last two days, and Carol Oates just blew me away. She threw the most wicked and twisted curves in Ember. Everything I thought was going to happen just blew up, and my heart is still racing. Oh, how I love it when an author does that. The storyline is fantastic. The romance is steamy hot! The characters are awesome. This whole book is one amazingly beautiful thrill ride. Thank you, Carol Oates, for getting my heart racing and blowing my mind!

Sebastian and Draven are both gorgeous in looks and body. These two are in a bad boy match, and Candra is the prize. Candra’s eighteen, and she carries the Watcher war between Sebastian and Draven on her shoulders. Love for Candra is a curse. She can’t just chose to follow her heart for the one she loves. The romance between these three soooooo goooooood! I love the way Oates describes these moments, especially Candra’s intimate thoughts about Sebastian. Swoon, swoon, and more swoon :)

I can't wait for the second book in the Ember series. I definitely want more of Sebastian and Draven. Just can’t get enough of these two bad boys. I highly recommend Ember as a must read!

(MY THOUGHTS)  5 STARS & 1 HEART<3
Unveiled is a very special novelette to me. I love it with all my heart, and the author who wrote it. Trisha Wolfe is my sweet daughter, who also is my heart, and I'm very proud of her and her first published Novelette. It's a little longer than her short stories, and every bit as action-packed and romantic as her novels. I was Trisha's beta reader for Unveiled, so I definitely know this story by heart lol! The romance between Fallon and Xander is hot, and their banter is so much fun. Even for a short story, it gripped me right away, and I was rooting for them. The Dystopian world is so different than most stories like this, because it's written almost like a Historical, but set in the future. I can't wait for the full novel based on this story to get picked up by a publisher. If you're looking for a fast, action-packed read with romance and an original Dystopian world, I highly recommend UNVEILED as a must read.

(MY THOUGHTS)    5  STARS!!!!!
Brightest Kind of Darkness is one of the most fantastic thrill rides. A Paranormal Fantasy with suspense and mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought I had figured out Ethan's dark mystery, of who and what he is, P.T. Michelle threw me another awesome curve. Michelle definitely has a gift with pen and paper. When a storyline and characters can hold me and keep me reading all night, that author has given me the gift I'm looking for—romance in a story, and being able to escape into the fantasy world. Thank you, P.T. Michelle, for giving me that love and fantasy in Nara and Ethan's story.

Nara is not one of the popular girls. The only reason she’s in this group is because she is best friends with Laniey. But I love this about Nara. She doesn't care. She’s strong and true to herself about who she is. Nara has the ability of see her future one day ahead in her dreams. All this is good as long as she doesn't mess with fate. She’s okay with this until the unthinkable happens and there’s no way she is going to sit back and watch when she has the power to change it. Nara has done the one thing you don't do. She’s messed with fate, and fate’s pissed.

Ethan is the loner with a dark secret. He also a beautiful, dangerously seductive, bad boy. Ethan and Nara are connected. Their love will be their power, and each other bright light in the darkness. I fell in love with Ethan. I always love the dark, sensual loner. And Ethan is one hundred percent luscious. When Ethan tells Nara that not touching her would be the hardest thing he ever had to do, that set my heart on fire. Their romance is definitely swoon heaven, and I’m ready for a lot more of Ethan Harris. I hope P.T. Michelle is writing fast as she’s working on the second book in this series. ;)

I love everything about Brightest Kind of Darkness—the fantastic storyline, plot, characters, but most of all, the romance. I highly recommend Brightest Kind of Darkness as a must read. Thank you, P.T. Michelle, for Nara and Ethan's amazing story.

(MY THOUGHTS)    5 STARS!!!!!
Altered Destiny is one of those beautiful Fantasy novels you just want to curl up with and take your time and enjoy. Shawna Thomas created an incredible world with the humans and Svistra. The characters are just as amazing. In Fantasy Romance novels, I usually love only the two main characters' romance, and I do love Selia and Jaden, they have an amazing romance, but I found myself falling in love with Oren and Commander Nathan. Altered Destiny has a strong, intriguing storyline that pulled me right into this amazing kingdom and fantasy world with beautiful romances, Jaden's brother jealousy, and the war between the humans and Svistra.

Oren is Selia's brother, a gentle giant of young man and, yes, I shed a few tears over him. Nathan is the king's commander in the human army. Nathan gave my heart a bit of a tug of war between him and Jaden for Selia’s affections. But Jaden did win me over in the end. Jaden is a gorgeous Svistra. He has left his home and his race because he doesn't believe in the killing of humans. Selia rescues a wounded Jaden and brings him back to her home to heal, but soon finds herself falling for Jaden and doubting everything she’s been told about the evil blood drinking Svistra. Selia is a twenty-year-old strong and independent woman who can take care of herself and is definitely kick-butt. Selia is the kind of woman I like. She’s strong, but hasn't lost her feminine side, and thanks to Jaden, he brings that out in her. The romance between them made my heart hammer. Jaden and Selia are beautiful in their love and standing together in their fight to bring peace between the Humans and Svistra.

Altered Destiny is what I would consider crossover YA, and I really liked this new YA for me and the older teens. It gives a little more in the romance department, but still keeps it where I like it. There is also plenty of action going on in with different kingdoms and war that's coming. Shawna Thomas has written an amazing fantasy world and beautiful romances that I highly recommend as a must read.

(MY THOUGHTS)   5  STARS!!!!!
Released has a fantastic cover. I love the tough girl, ready to your kick-butt attitude. It definitely made me want to read this book. The cover is just the beginning of what's fantastic about Released. Megan Duncan did awesome on the storyline and the characters. But, I do have to say the characters are what made this book great for me.

Duncan gave the four of them strong, individual personalities. Abby, with her tomboy-kick-butt on the outside, but definitely all girl on inside, I connected with her on the first page. Then we have Carter, her brother, who is a brainiac geek and gets a little altitude if you disagree with him and doesn't have a clue about when a girl likes him. Which brings me to Taya. She is a head-strong girl who can kick butt, too, and she also has her heart set on getting what she wants. And that would be Carter. So this situation between them gives me a few good laughs. But the one I love the most was Max, who is good-looking, strong, and confident and always sees the glass half full. Max is definitely the courageous one of this foursomes. Abby and Max has liked each other for a long time. But these two never acted on their feelings. It took an apocalypse and a few demons to finally stir things up between them. I really loved  the double romances Duncan had going on with Abby and Max—the hot and I love you kind, and Taya and Carter—the fun and laughs kind, with Taya chasing poor Carter.

The storyline in Released was an awesome one with these four teenagers taking on an apocalypse demon world and war. They have been thrown into this world and survival depends on their will to fight and win. I recommend Released as a must read. You will love these four amazing teenagers.

(MY THOUGHTS)  5+++++!

The Iron Knight is the last book in the Iron Fey series. It’s time to say goodbye to another awesome series that has taken me on amazing adventures of love and friendship, filled with laughs and tears. But I have to say my favorite was the romance between Maghen, Ash, and Puck. I myself could never choose between Ash and Puck. Ash being dark, cold, and serous. Puck being a joker, and fun-loving nature, always making me laugh. Together they made the prefect guy. In this last book all my questions were answer about Ash and Puck and their relationship to each other, and the one girl that came between their friendship, Ariella. Iron Knight is written from Ash's POV, and its Ash and Puck’s last adventure together, and their time to heal their friendship.

I would like to end my review with some of my favorite quotes from the Iron Fey series, because I believe everybody knows this is an awesome series—no need to gush, it’s amazing!—and for those who haven't read the Iron Fey series yet, I envy you a little. You will be able to read all the books at once, not having to wait, and be able to fall in love for the first time. So enjoy, because I definitely know you will. Okay, now for the quotes:

The Iron King Quotes
"Oh, we're playing nice now? Shall we have tea first? Brew up a nice pot of kiss-my-ass?
-Puck"

"Touch her, and I'll freeze your testicles off and put them in a jar. Understand?"
Ash

I would have gotten you there!" Puck roared. "Me! You don't need his help! Don't you trust me to keep you safe? I would've given everything for you. Why didn't you think I'd be enough?"
Puck

"You are my heart, my life, my entire existence."
-Ash"

"Hey, princess.”
“Hey,” I whispered, as Ash slipped his arms around my waist from behind, drawing me close. I could feel his glare aimed at Puck over my head, a silent, protective gesture that spoke louder than any words. Mine. Back off."

"Don't leave," I whispered, tightening my hold. "Never leave me again. Stay with me. Forever." The winter prince smiled, a small, easy smile, and lowered his lips to mine. "I promise."
-Meghan and Ash"

Okay, that's just a few. Believe me there's plenty more. I wish in some ways Julie Kagawa would give Puck his own book to experience love, romance, and adventure just for himself. Going to really miss Puck (sniffles). Yes, I highly recommend Iron Knight as a definite must read. Saying Goodbye to the Iron Fey series is a hard and sad thing to do :(

(MY THOUGHTS)    5  STARS!!!!!
Fallenwood is a fantasy within a fantasy. The storyline and characters are incredible. Leslie Soule has one amazing imagination. The creativity that Soule uses in her character devolvement was just outstanding. I would have liked to known her as a child. I’m sure she had one wild imagination.

Fallenwood had me in a fantasy of my own with the six kingdoms, Kings, Queens, Magician, Jester, Gypsies, Shifters, Fairies, and a Dragon. That's doesn’t even being to touch all the characters in Fallenwood. Like I said, incredible storyline.

Sixteen-year-old Ash is struggling with her stepfather's death, and finds herself sucked into a magic realm on a quest for the Great Crystal. Ash teams up with Will, a Magician, Terces the Jester, a cat named Greymalkin, and Prince Edward, who she rescuers from the dungeon of Everdown. I really enjoyed seeing  Ash grow into her own strength as a person and finding her own self-worth and the Prince she would fall in love with.

Fallenwood is a beautiful fantasy, full of magic, struggles, and love. I recommend Fallenwood  as a must read. And for those who love High Fantasy, you’re going to love this book.

(MY THOUGHTS)    5  STARS!!!!!
Confessions of an Improper Bride is a beautiful, passionate love story. Jennifer Haymore takes you into the most twisted world of deception. Haymore gives her own wicked meaning to the quote, "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." Every time I thought I got to the truth, Haymore hit me with another lie on top of a lie. Confessions of an Improper Bride is one intriguing story of deceit.

Serena and Meg are twin sisters sent off to London to find husbands. This is the year 1822 and a woman is to marry for a man's title and money, anything else is just a disgrace to her family. Serena is a headstrong girl at the age of eighteen, and love is what she looking for.  Jonathan, son of the Earl of Stratford,  is gorgeous and heir to his father's title. But Serena cares nothing for Jonathan’s money, she falls in love with him, but it’s not a love without scandal. Serena’s reputation is ruined by the one she loves. Serena and Jonathan's romance is heart-breaking, but also one of courage—that true love will overcome the tangled web of lies and deceit.

Serena and Jonathan’s romance is not one you want to miss out on. You will love untangling this web.  I recommend Confessions of a Improper Bride as a must read.

Yvonne Woon took me on a fantastic, nail-baiting, mysterious adventure. Life Eternal pulled me right in. Renee’s search for the answers to the mystery of the Nine Sisters—so she can save her soul mate, Dante—was very suspenseful. And I’m still anxiously waiting for more after that cliffhanger. Woon left me hanging. This world of Monitors and Undead is amazing and intriguing. The storyline is very deep with everything that's going on with the hidden secret of the Nine Sisters and the Liberum.

Renee is sent to a new school. This puts distance between her and Dante, but it’s not just the new school that's putting a strain on Dante and Renee’s relationship. Renee is confused, and it gets more complicated when she meets Noah, the new guy at her school. I have to say, I like Noah, and I did tear up over him. I think it’s going to get more confusing for Renee in the next book.

I love Renee and Dante’s romance. And that Renee risks everything—life and death—so she and Dante can be together. I recommend Life Eternal as a must read.

I don't know if there’s going to be a second book. The ending was left open for one, but it could work for a finished ending, too. I do hope for a second book. I definitely could go for more of Sebastian and Draven. Just can’t get enough of these two bad boys. I highly recommend Ember as a must read!
