(MY THOUGHTS)      5 HEARTS!!!!!
The Night She Disappeared is an intense thriller that sent a few chills up my spine. April Henry gives you more than just eerie chills in this storyline, she takes you into the mind of each character: the victim, parents, the innocent who are accused, the police, coroner, and a sick psychopath, to show the whole investigation in this terrifying thriller. April Henry did an excellent job of showing us the details of how a horrible crime affects the lives of all who it touches.

Gabie is a strong, independent seventeen year old, who works at Pete's Pizza after school. When Kayla, a co-worker, asks to switch days at work with her, Gabie couldn’t have known how one little favor would change everything, and the guilt that comes from knowing she was supposed to be the girl kidnapped not Kayla. Gabie knows Kayla is still alive, even whenever body believes she’s dead. Gabie, who’s always been a loner, desperately reaches out to Drew, who also works at Pete's Pizza, to believe her that she knows Kayla is still alive.

April Henry also created another character, Cody, that my heart breaks for. This is why I love how April Henry chose to write this story. She gives in-depth insight to all these characters’ lives. Cody is in no way a prefect, stand up citizen, and choices he’s made will cost him everything. It made me ask, How can the very people we trust to protect our rights lie to us in order to scare us into thinking there’s no hope?

The Night She Disappeared is a spine-tingling thriller. The only thing I would have liked to have known more about is Gabie and Drew's relationship, but I can live with the way the author chose to end this novel. With that said, it's a fantastic novel and I recommend it as a fantastic read.
