Genre: New Adult/ Contemporary Romance
the kind of situation most people would dread. Starting at a new high
school, in the middle of my senior year, in a new town, in a new state. I
know no one. No one knows me. That's what I'm counting on.
year ago, Aurora "Rory" Pine was just a normal teenage girl - just as
sweet and naive as the fairy tale princess she was named after.
But this isn't a year ago.
is broken, and now suffering from a debilitating anxiety disorder,
wrought with precarious triggers, she moves across the country to escape
the source of her troubles. Her plan is anonymity, but that's easier
said than achieved for the new girl having a panic episode outside of
calculus. The worst part? There's a witness - and a gorgeous one at
Sam is a walking trigger for Rory. Incredibly handsome,
built like the star athlete he obviously is, and undoubtedly popular,
Sam outwardly represents everything Rory despises about high school. But
as the fates keep throwing them together, a connection sparks that
neither ever expected, and certainly couldn't ignore.
But Sam has
issues too, and Rory's past won't just stay in the damned past. When
friendship evolves into something deeper, can a girl utterly destroyed
by the worst kind of betrayal and a boy battling demons of his own ever
have a normal relationship? Is that even what they want? Find out in
NORMAL, a gritty story of trust and abuse, heartbreak and salvation, and
if they're lucky - love. This is not a flowery romance - not for the
faint of heart.

another book cover that threw me—from the cover, I thought the story
was going to be about something else. I really do have to stop judging
books by their covers. Now with that said, I do want to say this was an
awesome read. So don't let this cover fool you. Rory’s (Aurora) story is
no sweet Chick-Lit. Rory, Sam and Cam's story is gritty, a little dark,
beautifully heart-touching with a steamy hot romance. No, there's no
triangle romance between these three. I felt like I had to include Cam
with Rory and Sam, because his part in this story will touch and rip
your heart to shreds. Danielle Pearl has written an amazing New Adult
story with so many fantastic characters. I love that while the main
characters Rory and Sam's romance is the main romance, there was also
two more romances we get to see with Tuck and Carl (Carleigh) and Tina
Now why I say Rory's story is gritty; this is
because of Robin (Robin is Rory's ex-boyfriend.) This guy takes someone
beautiful like Rory and destroys ever bit of the beauty within her. But
then you have a traffic guy like Sam who falls in love with Rory and
still sees the beautiful strong girl she is and wants to help give back
those beautiful pieces to Rory, to show her she’s stronger than her
Normal’s storyline is base around college football with
all the gorgeous guys being on a college football team. So that right
there was a huge plus for me. Because I love sports romance, especially
when it's about hot football jocks. Gotta love those quarterbacks and
yes, Sam is the sexy, gorgeous team QB and the team's captain.
is a series, so I'm waiting anxiously for the second book with Rory and
Sam to find out how their romance is going to survive the ex-boyfriend
problem. Normal is one of those amazing books that will totally take you
by surprise with its in-depth storyline and a beautiful, hot romance. I
recommend Normal as a must, must read.
