There's bound to be trouble in Paradise . . .
When her parents decide a change will be good for her, seventeen-year-old Lexie Atkinson never expected they'd send her all the way to Paradise City. Coming from a predictable life of home schooling on a rural Australian property, she's sure that Paradise will be amazing. But when she's thrust into a public school without a friendly face in sight, and forced to share a room with her insipid, hateful cousin Amanda, Lexie's not so sure.
Hanging out with the self-proclaimed beach bums of the city, sneaking out, late night parties and parking with boys are all things Lexie's never experienced, but all that's about to change. It's new, terrifying . . . and exciting. But when she meets Luke Ballantine, exciting doesn't even come close to describing her new life. Trouble with a capital T, Luke is impulsive, charming and answers to no one. The resident bad-boy leader of the group, he's sexier than any boy Lexie has ever known.
Amidst the stolen moments of knowing looks and heated touches, Lexie can't help but wonder if Luke is going to be good for her . . . or very, very bad?
It's been far too long since I've read one of C.J. Duggan's books. I love the way she writes New Adult. And I’ve already fallen in love with this new series just as much as her Summer series. These new characters from Paradise City have stolen my heart, too. The sexy, beautiful bad boys are known as the Kirland Boys of Paradise High school and also as the Beach Bums of Paradise City. They are the surfer delinquents, the sporty types—you know, not much between the ears but pretty good between the sheets. But, don't let these bad boys fool you. The Kirland boys have brains as well as their sexy bad boy reputations. Yep, that's the Kirland bad boys. And these sexy surfers who are yummy between the sheets are Luke Ballantine, who's known as the Lord of the Beach Bums, and Boon, Boppo, and Woolly. Then we have the new girl that comes to Paradise High, Lexie (no middle name) Atkinson. She’s been wanting to stay with her cousin, Amanda, and experience the big city life of Paradise. Lexie has lived in the small town of Red Hill all her life, where the most exciting thing to do is to watch Hoarders on TV each week. Lexie is feisty, and she’s ready for some excitement in her boring, mundane life. She’s also ready to be let out of her Red Hill cage and spread her wings in the big city. Lexie’s breaking every one of her boundaries; she comes alive in the city and so does her heart, for the beautiful, dimpled smile, bad boy Luke Ballantine.
Lexie had me laughing with her adrenaline rush overload. She's wanting to experience every thing she’s been missing as a teenager living in a boring town. But those experiences didn't include Paradise High’s sexiest bad boy, Luke. Lexie didn't plan on falling for Luke Ballantine, but her heart had other plans.
Lexie and Luke had me flipping pages like crazy with the sexual tension between them. Along with their relationship always hitting a bump in the road and taking a detour. And one of those detours is Dean Saville, who owns the Wipe Out Bar. C.J. Duggan had me hanging on to the edge of my seat, wondering how this was going to end with Dean.
Yes, readers, Paradise City is a sequential series, and this a first for C.J. Duggan, as her Summer series are companion books. And I will be waiting anxiously for Lexie and Luke and their steamy hot, first love romance on August 28th in Paradise Road. I highly recommend Lexie and hottie Luke and their Paradise City romance as a must read.
5 Hearts of Love for PARADISE CITY
C.J. DUGGAN is an internationally bestselling author who lives with her husband in Mathoura, a rural border town of New South Wales. Her self-published Summer series has sold over 180,000 copies worldwide, and PARADISE CITY is her eighth book, and the first in a new series of New Adult romance.
When she isn't writing books about swoony boys and 90s pop culture you will find her renovating her hundred-year-old Victorian homestead or annoying her local travel agent for a quote to escape the chaos.
