In this explosive novel from New York Times bestselling author Jen McLaughlin, a good girl falls for the ultimate bad boy: her stepbrother. Perfect for fans of Sabrina Paige, Caitlin Daire, and Krista Lakes, Bad Romance proves that passion can be so wrong it’s right.

Seven years in the army will change a guy. But after a shoulder wound ends his career as a sniper, Jackson Worthington finds himself back home, fighting a battle that’s all too familiar: keeping his hands off Lily Hastings. She’s still her rich daddy’s little angel, innocent, impossibly lovely, as squeaky-clean as Jackson is dirty. And she’s still his stepsister—forbidden but not forgotten, not after the soul-melting kiss that got him kicked out of the house at eighteen. He couldn’t resist her then. How the hell can he resist her now?

Lily is about to marry a man she doesn’t love, and commit to a high-stress job she hates, all to please the father who controls every waking moment of her life. On top of everything, her teenage crush is back, with a sleek, chiseled body and a trace of the rebellious boy whose lips sealed her fate. Jackson’s timing couldn’t be worse . . . or better. Because Lily’s all grown up, too. She’s aching for another taste. And for the first time, she’s ready to be a bad girl.

                                                                                               (My Thoughts)

I believe this is my first time reading a Jen McLaughlin novel. But it's definitely not my first for reading a stepbrother romance. Jen McLaughlin won me totally over for this stepbrother romance. I love that Bad Romance is a fresh take on a taboo storyline that seems to always go the same way... (Oh, we’re stepsiblings so we can't be together) Nope, McLaughlin give's a new reason as to why these two stepsiblings can't be together. And for that reason, I truly love Bad Romance stepbrother romance.
Jackson is a beautiful character. It was hard reading how much he was alone in this world and his family, how he was on his own with no one to really love him, not even his own mother. But Lilly changed that, Lilly pretty much was Jackson’s only friend and the only one who believed in him and can see the good that's inside of him. Lilly never stop reaching out to Jackson, even when Jackson kept trying to push her way and left for seven years without a word.
Lilly has always been a daddy's girl. She would never tell her father no, not even when it came to her love for Jackson and to be with Jackson. Lilly is twenty-two now, but she hasn't changed from the girl that she was at fifteen. When it comes to her father, Lilly still allows him to run her life. Even when it's her last chance to be with Jackson, the boy and now the man, she has always loved and wanted with all her heart, soul and body.
Jackson never knew that a plate of chocolate cookies would melt his hard heart as a boy from a little girl who loved him at first sight. But now at twenty-five, it's Jackson who is going to have fight for Lilly. To reach out and prove his love to her, that their love is worth fighting for.
Bad Romance is a surprisingly different take, a fresh breath on a stepbrother romance. I highly recommend as a must read.
