Torch by Karen Erickson
Release Date: August 16th
Series: Wildwood #3
Tate Warren has never met a woman he couldn’t charm—until now.Wren Gallagher won’t give him the time of day and it’s making him crazy. But he won’t give up without a fight… because there’s one thing he knows for sure: Enemies make the best lovers. Most women swoon over Tate’s devilish grin and firefighter uniform. But Wren couldn’t be less impressed by his good looks and flirtatious banter—in fact, she seems to downright despise him. She thinks he’s a player, but his attraction to her is no game. Wren is unlike anyone he’s ever known and he isn’t about to let the feisty, gorgeous woman slip through his fingers. Wooing Wren would be so much easier if she didn’t hate him… Or does she?
For all who have fallen in love with Karen Erickson's Wildwood series and have been waiting and wanting feisty baby sister, Gallagher (Wren's story) with cocky, womanizer Tate, it's here and the wait was well worth it for these two. In the first two books, which were West and Lane's story, the romance was building between Wren and Tate. Yes, we love seeing these two taunt each other with their bickering, trying to best the other. But we also knew Wren and Tate’s feelings were going to explode, and from all that sexual tension was going to come a beautiful, soul-deep love between them. Wren and Tate's hate-turned-love romance is a swoon-your-heart love affair, but will also have you laughing hysterically.
Ever since Tate Warren moved to Wildwood, Wren Gallagher has had it out for him. All the other women in town are falling at his feet, but Wren's fiery sarcasm keeps Tate—the womanizer—under her feet where the player needs to stay. Wren has no intentions of becoming another notch on Tate's bedpost, no matter how impossibly sexy she finds him. Men like Tate are players, like her father, and she has watched her mother all her life become a doormat and look the other way to her father's infidelity.
Tate has no idea what he has done to deserve Wren's fiery attitude, but he has to admit it's a turn on for him. Tate loves giving the only woman he wants but can't have a hard time. Tate has even named the game they play: How fast can I piss off Wren? answer: Pretty damn fast. Tate knows Wren’s first impression of him wasn't a great one, but that little scandalous incident that Wren caught him in also convinced him that he wants to be more for Wren. Well, it made him a little more discreet, but if he’s truthful with himself, he only wants to be discreet with Wren, if she will give him a chance to prove himself to her.
Torch is definitely the right title for Wren and Tate's scorching hot romance. These two are an insane roller coast ride of raging, out-of-control sexual tension, circling each other like hissing cats. Wren, who unleashes her inner vixen on the womanizing playboy, and Tate, who wants to become Wren's knight in shining, well more like a tarnish armor to win her heart. And this is just the foreplay between Wren and Tate. Definitely a must read.
