I Heart YA Books Followers and Authors

I Heart YA Books Followers and Authors,

I’ve enjoyed and loved for the pass seven years being able to be part of the book community, sharing the love of books with you and I hope to be able to continue book blogging in the near future, but due to my mother’s dementia illness, and her need of constant supervision and care, unfortunately, I’m unable to devote much time to reading, reviewing, and blogging at this time. My mother's is at a different level of this disease, which had me at the ER this pass weekend and a three day stay at the hospital. I hope you will understand that for the Book Tours and reviews due to any upcoming tours, I simply can’t honor them at this time, and I am so very sorry—as I’ve always tried to review on time until now.

Thank you for your understanding,

Title: Redemption
Series: Golden Beach #4
Author: Kim Loraine
Genre: Contemporary Romance/New Adult

Release Date: February 8, 2017

Blurb

Sparks may fly in the bedroom, but fire always brings destruction.

Golden Beach firefighter, Lieutenant Michael Oliver, has everything he wants — a beautiful wife, a job he loves, and a future that finally looks bright after years of darkness. Until one day a surprise from his past shows up, throwing everything he’d finally recovered from back in his face.

Lena Shirakawa married the man of her dreams in an impulsive Vegas wedding. As a free-spirited and highly sought-after travel photographer, being the wife of a firefighter who wants her to settle down isn’t easy. Especially when her job takes her all over the world for months at a time.

When Lena’s deep-rooted fears take hold, the damage is done and divorce seems the only option. But Michael won't give up, even if it means risking everything to keep her.

Excerpt

Lena Shirakawa swayed in her spot as the unseasonably warm October sun beat down against them. She wiped the beads of sweat from her brow and waited for the models to get into position.

She heard them as they approached, filling the quiet beach with rowdy banter. Twelve drop-dead gorgeous firefighters from different stations across the Virginia coast filed into the partitioned section of sand and surf. Her heart raced at the sight of the men in uniform—chiseled, well muscled, and confident.

"Where do you want them?"

Lena snapped her mouth closed as her assistant waved a handkerchief in her face.

"I wasn't drooling," she told Hallie, aware of the indignant tone in her voice.

"It's for your forehead. You're sweating … but now that you mention it—"

"Shut it, Hal."

Hallie laughed as she gathered a reflector and started her stroll toward the group.

"Can you line them up by month? I want a few shots of all of them and then we'll go down the line, January through December."

"Any particular poses?"

Lena shook her head and snickered as her gaze fell to the table of props. A few axes, a coiled fire hose, rope, chains, and a bottle of baby oil covered the surface of the table. This was going to be fun. She counted the men as Hallie lined them up and stopped short at eleven.

"Hal? There's one missing. And where's my truck? I was told we'd have a truck and that I'd get real flames to work with."

Hallie nodded. "The truck is on the way, along with Mr. December . . . Michael Oliver." She nodded to the pile of driftwood stacked about twenty yards down the beach. "There's your fire."

Lena cocked an eyebrow and smirked. "I trained you right, didn't I?"

Hallie chuckled and continued positioning firefighters which turned out to be more difficult than it seemed. They were loud, boisterous, and Lena couldn't stop herself from snapping candid shots as they teased and flirted with her assistant.

Six of the men were from Station 31, Golden Beach's local firehouse. She knew most of them by reputation alone, and one due to a mistake she'd made a year earlier.

"Okay, fellas. Line up. Backs to the waves, if you please. Let's go ahead and get your shirts off." Hallie directed them without batting an eye and Lena just stood back and watched.

She started plotting the next few hours in her head, planning for the best poses, but lost her focus as bare chests, tattoos, and washboard abdominals came into view.

Stop it. You are a professional. Ogling is not okay.

She snatched the bottle of baby oil and tossed it at Hallie with a wink.

"Glistening," Lena instructed.

"Some days this job sucks. Today is not one of them."

As Hallie offered oil to each of the guys, Lena turned her back, organizing her thoughts and planning the shoot. The waves crashed behind them, and the sun hung low in the sky. All she needed was the damn fire truck and Mr. December.

The sound of a siren broke through the chatter. Engine 31 rolled down the beach, lights flashing, and Lena rolled her eyes.

Michael parked the truck and jumped down from the driver's seat, a wide grin on his perfect face.

"Damn. That man is beautiful." Hallie's breathy whisper echoed Lena's own feelings. He was beautiful. Pouty lips, a chiseled jawline, gentle eyes graced with soft laugh lines. She knew what those lips felt like . . . everywhere.

"Physical perfection. Too bad he's only pretty on the outside," Lena muttered.

"I don't know. Might be worth it."

Lena offered a light shrug and walked over to inspect the truck.

"Freshly waxed just for you." Michael's deep baritone drew a layer of arousal over her body.

"Good. You're late," she snapped.

"You're welcome."

She eyed him, trying to get past the jaw-dropping good looks and focus on the reason she was here—a calendar for charity.

"Shirt off, please," she ordered. "Let's see what we've got to work with."

That had been a bad choice. He stripped off his thin, blue t-shirt and tossed it at her. It smelled of leather and something spicy. She had to force herself not to bring the fabric to her nose and inhale deeply.

"Do I get your stamp of approval?" He cocked an eyebrow and smirked at her as he flexed his chest.

She had to clear her throat before she could get her voice to cooperate, then she shrugged.

"You'll do," she threw over her shoulder as she walked away, gripping her camera tightly and trying to control the shaking of her fingers.

After a few deep, calming breaths, she got past the sparks of attraction she felt for Michael, and the shoot fell into place. At the end of the night all that remained were the embers of the bonfire and three firefighters, including Michael. They sat around the dying fire, talking and watching the waves.

"Should we leave?" Hallie asked under her breath.

Lena shrugged as she continued packing up. Donovan Miller, the newest firefighter at the station, had already taken the truck and borrowed props back to the firehouse. All that was left to do was make sure the flames were extinguished and load the table in the back of her van.

She tipped the table on its back and started collapsing the legs while Hallie carted a bag up the path to the parking lot. Struggling to gain traction in the sand, Lena lifted the long rectangle at one end and began to pull.

"Let me help you with that, princess." Michael's voice sent warm tingles down her spine.

He grabbed the other end of the table and lifted it with ease, grinning as he followed her lead and they made their way to the waiting van.

Hallie snickered and cast her a knowing glance as she passed the pair on her way back to the beach. "I'll get the boys to help me put out the fire. You don't need to hang around on my account, L."

She could practically feel his broad smile behind her and she shook her head, fighting a laugh.

The idea of a night or two tangled in the sheets with a gorgeous man sounded exactly like what she needed. Unfortunately for Michael, she wasn't willing to give him the satisfaction of adding her notch to his bedpost—again.

As he helped her load the table he brushed his fingers along the exposed skin of her shoulder. She fought off an involuntary shiver, pushing the door closed and turning to face him.

"So, are we doing this?" His tone was confident as he closed the distance between their bodies—his hips touching hers.

A wave of need crested over her. It was all she could do to wait for it to recede.

"Not tonight." She could barely manage a whisper.

His lips turned down in a playful pout but instead of backing away, he pressed closer, one hand on either side of her face.

"That's not a never."

Fletcher

“You’re Fletcher, aren’t you?” a tall blonde with legs that go on for miles asks, resting her hand on my shoulder. Logan smiles with a look that says you’ve pulled tonight. She is pretty tidy looking, but has overdone it in the make-up department. I rake my eyes in appreciation over her body. Curves in all the right places, and those tits, bloody hell…I could have a lot

of fun with those as I slide between them, but of course, they’re probably fake.

“Yeah,” I say, even though I shouldn’t, but I’m sure the rest of the guys are loving the female attention they’re getting. “Drinks all around,” I call out.

The bartender smiles as he looks at our company. Even he has an idea of how tonight will end.

The blonde tells me her name, but I don’t take any notice. I don’t want to remember her name in the morning, or whenever I creep out of her bed. Makes it easier that way. As the alcohol flows freely, the blonde keeps trying to persuade me to get on the dance floor with her. She seems the type that wouldn’t mind putting on one hell of a floor show. I might be on the drunk side now, but I’m still cautious. I’ve definitely learned my lesson over the years; you just never know who is lurking around, ready to get pictures. She can do what she wants for me in private later on, though.

About Your Tempting Love (Book 5): This is book 5 in The Bennett Family series, but can be read as a standalone since every book features a different couple. Christopher Bennett is a persuasive man. With his magnetic charm and undeniable wit, he plays a key role in the international success of his family’s company.   Christopher adores his family, even if they can be too meddling sometimes… like when they recommend him to employ Victoria Hensley’s decorating services for his new apartment in an attempt to set him up with her. Christopher isn’t looking to settle down, but meeting Victoria turns his world upside down. Her laughter is contagious, and her beautiful lips and curves are too tempting.   Victoria Hensley is determined not to fall under Christopher’s spell, even though the man is hotter than sin, and his flirty banter makes her toes curl. But Christopher is her client, and she knows better than to get involved with clients. Besides, Victoria isn’t looking for love. After her parents’ death, Victoria is raising her much younger siblings, and she can’t afford any mistakes.   But Victoria and Christopher’s chemistry is not just the sparks-flying kind, but the downright explosive kind. Before she knows it, Christopher is training her brother Lucas for soccer tryouts and reading bedtime stories to her sister Chloe.   Victoria wants to resist him, but Christopher is determined, stubborn, and oh-so-persuasive.   When their attraction and connection both spiral out of control, will they be able to risk it all for a love that is far too tempting?   LHYourTemptingLove3D2 Exclusive Excerpt When I walk up Victoria’s porch on Saturday morning, I can hear a war waging inside the house. “Chloe, you can't wear that shirt again. It's dirty. Take it off now.” Victoria's voice sounds stern but tired. “But I like it,” Chloe retaliates. “It's dirty and smelly,” Lucas says. “Why do you want to be smelly?” For a few minutes, I wait outside the door for the spirits to calm down, but things just seem to escalate. It's best if I announce my presence, even if I'm twenty minutes early. The second I ring the bell, the voices die down but then start again, now as low whispers. After a few hurried orders of “behave” and “pick your socks up off the floor,” the door swings open. "Hi," I say. "You're here early," Victoria exclaims. She wears a bright orange robe she desperately tightens around her. Clearly she meant to change before my arrival. Something is different about her this morning. There are shadows under her eyes, and she looks utterly disheveled. She looks down at the gym bag in my hand as if considering something. "Should I wait outside, or in my car?" I joke because she seems to need some lighting up. "God, no." If possible, she gets even more flustered than before, shaking her head and opening the door wider. "Sorry, I'm a bit of a mess this morning." "There's no need to explain yourself to me," I assure her as I walk inside. The little devils are nowhere to be seen. "Where did the kids disappear to? I heard them when I walked up onto the porch." "Chloe agreed to change when she heard the doorbell. Sienna's helping her. Lucas went to change into soccer-appropriate clothes. Do you need to change?" "Nah, this will do. I'll change into a new shirt afterward." I point to the gym bag, in which I packed a towel, shower gel, and a new shirt. "Sorry for my outfit. I meant to change into something decent, but…." And maybe it's because she seems to get more distressed by the second, but I resort to the one thing I know will take her mind off it. "Hey, I'm a big proponent of indecency. You'd make my day if you told me you're wearing a camisole underneath that." Seeing her blush, I can't help leaning in and adding in a slight whisper, "And no panties." My words have the desired effect of making her laugh. "I'm not even awake enough to come up with a witty reply to that. Let's go in the kitchen. I'll make you a sandwich." As I follow her, I actually make an effort to avoid ogling her round, perky ass. Her robe is tightened around her middle, which highlights her other curves more than I wish it would. "Do you ever leave the house wearing just your robe?" "I know my choice of clothes is oddly colorful sometimes, but I don't go out of the house in what's practically underwear." "Not even to get the mail or something?" She turns around as we enter the small kitchen, pursing her lips. "What's with all the questions?" "Just wondering if any of your neighbors saw what I'm seeing right now. I might have to kill a few if the answer's yes." "Territorial much?" Her question takes me by surprise, and damn, I haven't been territorial with a woman in a long time. Victoria keeps surprising me. Not only that, she makes me surprise myself, and that has never happened before. Maybe this is why, despite my best efforts, I can't tone down the flirting. Okay, scratch that. I'm not even making a decent effort. If anything, I'm looking for any opportunity to make her blush. A slow smile spreads on her face. "Just think about all those men who saw me in a bikini." I love this woman's spirit and talent for banter. Still, that doesn't make me less of an ass. All I want is to prop her up on this counter, bury myself inside her, and lure sounds of pleasure out of her delicious mouth.

Exclusive Excerpt: They circled each other, moving in time with the music. It was a dance between ice and fire; she with elegant, wary steps, he with sweeping, confident strides. His dark eyes bore into hers, both frightening and irresistibly lustful. They spoke of a desire to absolutely devour her, and in that moment, it was Natalie, not Cecile, who trembled as he continued.   “Give us to temptation, end this sweet tribulation that women know just as keenly as men.”   The key changed, and a sinister dissonance crept into the atmosphere as they came full-circle, standing on opposite sides of their mark. With a sharp flick of his wrist, he extended a hand in invitation, and she took it, her eyes gleaming with curiosity as she sang.   “Just one more kiss.” Powerful arms pulled her into an embrace, her lithe dancer’s body melting into his solid athletic frame. The heat was intoxicating, almost dizzying, and she hoped that the befitting uncertainty would work to her benefit. A longing glance at his lips gave him permission, but she still wasn’t prepared for the warm brush of his soft skin against hers. She tingled, the pleasant shock stealing her breath as she held back a moan. It was brief, his cue cutting short the kiss she would gladly have continued. Thankfully, it wouldn’t be the last.   “Let me show you what you’ve longed to explore.” She nodded, letting him back her up as if to an invisible bed, singing in agreement.   “One more kiss.” Another step backward, another soft nip at her lower lip, drawing away before she could respond.   “And discover the ache stirring deep in your core.” Oh, if he had any idea…   She arched into him again, this time fully aware and willing. He held her tighter, all but dragging her now.   “One more kiss.” This time, it was she who impulsively brought her lips to his for just a moment, playing at shyness as she pulled away.   His voice descended into a deep growl, hot breath teasing her neck as he tilted his head and grazed his mouth against the soft, sensitive skin. “Give in to the lust you can no longer ignore.” She closed her eyes and gasped, the noise covered by her singing.   “One more kiss.” Desperation gave her voice a breathless quality, the line no longer a compromise, but a demand.   “And you’ll finally know what your body is for.” He dipped her back, grasping behind her downstage knee to lift her leg against the outside of his thigh – but rather than pull her closer, he angled her away from him. Odd.   “One more kiss!” they sang together, voices ringing and perfectly matched; each repetition heightened in pitch and tempo, building to an overwhelming crescendo. “One more kiss! One more—” Their faces stopped but an inch apart, eyes hazily focused on the other’s lips. A devilish grin of satisfaction etched dimples into his cheeks, recognizing her surrender, and her eyes fluttered shut, giving in completely with a soft, pleading whisper.   “Kiss me…”

Trillionaire Boys’ Club: The Producer
Aubrey Parker
Publication date: January 10th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance
These hot, powerful men don’t impress me.
I’m not new to this secret club of billionaires. I know all about their Syndicate … and even some of their plans to control the world. I’m Alyssa Friggin’ Galloway, publicity genius, and I’ve dealt with all of them: Nathan Turner, who built the Boys’ Club, and even the insufferable Ashton Moran.
They’re all the same: all arrogance and bluster, using women like disposable things. I’m immune to their charms.
So why does the worst of the worst … Cole Freaking Ellison … intrigue me so much?
To stay afloat with all these MEN, I need to be tough. So I hold my ground. But Cole? He sees right through me to the vulnerable thing beneath.
Cole wants to control me. He wants to use me for his own pleasure.
And against all judgment, I want to let him.
The Producer is part of the Trillionaire Boys’ Club series by Aubrey Parker. Each book tells the story of one of the Club’s powerful members … and you’re going to want to collect them all.
EXCERPT:
Alyssa’s lips purse to laugh, but I’m not kidding. I’ve never done anything precisely like this before, and that newness makes the errand feel dire and serious. I want her. I will have her. I’m not willing to wait, and if Alyssa doesn’t like the disorder caused by my early arrival? Well, she doesn’t need to be in charge of everything all the time, does she?
I walk closer, wondering at my own actions. Not caring. Only feeling the need that’s been burning within me all day while thinking about her.
I’m an edge-walker, but not usually this devious.
Today is different. Today I’m like a criminal, bent on achieving my need through any means necessary. So I called her assistant, Susanne, and told her I was from UPS and that there was an oversized package she needed to sign for. When the assistant left the office, I sneaked in behind her and locked her out. I’m sure she can call the superintendent or someone to let her back in, but that’ll take time. She could cut to the chase and call Alyssa, but her boss won’t be answering phones for a while.
She’ll be otherwise occupied.
Unable to speak.
“Cole …”
A sentence without a predicate. She doesn’t know what to say.
At least not anything more than my name.
“Let’s cut the shit,” I tell her.
Alyssa looks frozen in place. Ravishing. I got hard the moment I decided not to wait until four. Now I’m throbbing. I want her. I haven’t stopped thinking about her since that text.
I’ll try hard to prepare myself.
It turns me on, knowing she’s thinking about me. Alyssa comes off as such a straight-laced girl. A total pro. She wears her sensible girl suits with her sensible girl skirts that never rise immodestly high. Heels that are common but understatedly sexy, if you know where to look. She wears her hair like she’s going to court, but all I can think of is shaking it loose. Her features are always so hard, but if you pay attention it’s easy to see just how breathtakingly beautiful she is.
Once you know Alyssa for a while, you start thinking that she’s sexless. But one couched text, with its barely-there innuendo, was enough to shatter that impression. Yesterday morning could have caught her off guard. Our encounter on the bathroom floor might have been a one-time thing she’d instantly regret. But her text changed that. It made me see, through the thinnest of cracks in her frozen facade, that Alyssa isn’t a robot.
Now I know she’s truly a woman, with desires to match my own.
My cock strains against its confinement. I watch her chest rise and fall; her nipples push against her silky white blouse. She’s breathing long and slow through moist, gently parted lips. Her eyes stay on mine, hungry under her reservations.
“Let’s stop bullshitting each other and fuck like animals.”
“You need to leave.”
“You don’t want me to leave,” I say, shaking my head. “So tell me. Forget about what’s proper for once, and tell me what you really want.”
Her eyes flick toward the door. I’ve locked that one, too, same as the outer door her assistant is probably already finding closed.
“Say it, Alyssa.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“Say you’ve been thinking about me.”
Alyssa says nothing.
“Say you’ve been wet all day, waiting for four to come.”
She swallows. I step closer. I move around the desk. Alyssa looks for all the world like she’s about to startle and flee. But she doesn’t go. Instead she lets me walk up next to her, close enough to smell. She says nothing as my hands run up her sides, as I brush her hair away from her long neck. She tips her head sideways, just a little. I can’t see her eyes from behind, but I imagine them closing.
Say the truth,” I whisper into her ear.
“I want you.”

Author Bio:
I love to write stories with characters that feel real enough to friend on Facebook, or slap across the face. I write to make you feel, think, and burn with the thrill that can only come from getting lost in the pages. I love to write unforgettable characters who wrestle with life's largest problems. My books may always end with a Happily Ever After, but there will always be drama on the way there.

About BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

My name is Roman Cavenaugh and I’m kind of an asshole. Running a company isn't easy, especially when everyone expects you to fail, so being a jerk? It comes with the territory. I don't have time to mess around, and I sure as hell didn’t see her coming. Cara Hamilton—she was supposed to be off limits…a temporary employee brought in during my assistant’s maternity leave. But, in the blink of an eye, she became so much more. An obsession I couldn’t shake. So yeah, I may be an asshole, but now, I finally had a purpose, and soon, she would be mine. All’s fair in love and war…

Read a sneak peek of BEHIND CLOSED DOORS:

"Can I ask you something?" she said, drawing my attention away from the monotony on my computer screen. I looked up to find her eyes dead set on mine. It was unnerving. She usually tried to avoid direct eye contact with me. Maybe I intimidated her. Perhaps she found me attractive and the idea of lusting after her boss bothered her. Believe me, it bothered me too. In a very physical way. “Go ahead,” I answered, unwilling to break the intimate connection she'd started. "When you saw me… at the club that night," she said, her eyes wavering just slightly. "What was it you saw in me? I mean, was it just the clothes?" My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Even though I'd said we'd never speak of what happened that drunken night two weeks ago, I saw something in her eyes that needed an answer. That needed something more. "Why are you asking?" "It's nothing, sorry. I'm being stupid," she backpedaled, as she began fiddling with the hem of her skirt. Looking back at our few interactions, I suddenly noticed the difference in how she'd acted today. Her normal never-ending stream of word vomit was there, but behind it, there was an internal struggle going on. The hemline wasn't the first thing she'd fidgeted with. I'd watched as she'd pulled at the collar of her shirt and then, as if she'd realized what she had done was wrong, quickly lay it flat again. "Does this have something to do with the way you're dressed today?" Pink tinged her cheeks once again. "You noticed?" I simply nodded, not trusting myself with words in that moment. Because I’d more than noticed. It’d been damn hard not to think about anything but. "A gift from my boyfriend," she replied. "He said my old clothes didn't fit in with our new life style. It was a very generous gift," she added, never forgetting that politeness she'd no doubt been taught since birth. "But?" I questioned, waiting for her to continue. "But… I don't feel like me anymore," she finally admitted. "And I'm guessing the night in the club was another gift of his as well?" It was her turn to nod. I could see the indecision and worry gnawing at her. Someone like her, sweet, honest and good… she was meant for better things than a life with a man who didn't appreciate her. Leaning forward, I made sure she saw the sincerity burning in my eyes as I spoke. "That night in the club, I'll admit, I noticed the dress first." She opened her lips to speak but I held up my hand to stop her, wanting to make my point. "And today, when you walked in, I couldn't help but give a second… or third glance at the way that new skirt hugged your ass." Her eyes widened at my blatant honesty. "So yes, the clothes may grab my attention for a moment or two, but the fact that I'm still interested, two weeks later? That's you, Cara. That’s all you.” And just like that, I'd crossed the line. I’d hit on an employee. And there was no going back from that.
