Crushed (The Witch-Game #1) by K.C. Blake

Crushed (The Witch-Game #1)

Crushed (The Witch-Game #1)

The Noah sisters rule Titan High with their beauty, brains, and magical powers.

Each year they play a secret game: Crushed. The girls pick their targets carefully and blow enchanted dust into the boy’s faces, charming them, but this year Kristen makes a grave mistake. She chooses the wrong boy and almost dies that same day. Coincidence? Maybe.

But something isn’t quite right about Zach Bevian. He doesn’t behave like a boy who’s been Crushed. He goes from hot to cold, from looking at her with contempt to asking her out on a date. She doesn’t know what to think. Does he hate her or is he truly falling for her? Is he trying to kill her, or is he trying to save her?

Crushed is the second book I’ve read by author K.C. Blake, and I’ve come to love her writing. She puts just the right amount or humor, drama, and action in, with a beautiful paranormal storyline and strong plot. Breathtaking romances. Yes, have to have romance. I enjoy and love each of her characters. She gives them so much personality and each one is clear in their own identity. They pull me right into the story. I also love the way K.C. writes from the guy and girl POV. This always makes for a deeper romance. K.C. Blake is an Awesome writer!
Crushed is a game that Kristen and her two sister's Brittany and Cyndi—who are witch's—play on the guys at Titan High. But this school year Kristen is tired of always being the good girl for her parents, teachers, and sisters. She decides to be a little dangerous for once and danger is what Kristen gets when she picks Zach—the gorgeous bad boy—to play the crush game on. Zach has few dark secrets of his own. Zach, the bad boy has a game for Kristen, the good girl, and so the game begins with these two, and believe me, it does. Kristen and Zach are terrific together, they had me rooting for them and the romance was swoon heaven. But like all games, they have to end, and for Kristen and Zach they now face the game of real life and their love will have to be strong enough to make the ultimate sacrifice for each other. Crushed is definitely a winner, I recommend Crushed as A must read!

The Girl of Fire and Thorns ( Fire and Thorns #1) by Rae Carson

The Girl of Fire and Thorns (Fire and Thorns, #1)

The Girl of Fire and Thorns (Fire and Thorns #1)

Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.

Elisa is the chosen one.

But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can’t see how she ever will.

Now, on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.

And he’s not the only one who seeks her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his people’s savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart that is at stake.

Elisa could be everything to those who need her most. If the prophecy is fulfilled. If she finds the power deep within herself. If she doesn’t die young.

Most of the chosen do.

This review is going to be so hard to not give any spoilers! When a book is this beautiful, and the characters and storyline are so uniquely amazing, I just want to share it.

I’ve read a lot of books that have broken my heart, but The Girl of Fire and Thorns left me literally torn and brokenhearted. Rea Carson ripped my heart out of my chest, tore it to pieces, and didn't put it back together. Rea Carson is an astonishingly gifted writer, and oh, you can believe I will be waiting eagerly with hopes of her mending my heart in the next book in the Fire and Thorns series. It’s just that awesome.

I loved Elisa. The way her character grows from a sixteen-year-old girl, who only cares about how much food she eats, to a beautiful, strong, leader, and independent women in mind, body, and spirit—It’s definitely true that Elisa's life suffering does build character. Her father weds her to a king who doesn't love her, and what she has to endure with being king Alejandro's wife is more than I could take. I wanted to do bodying damage to this guy. And when Elisa meets Humberto (truly fell in love with him) a gorgeous guy who is courageous, protective, and loves Elisa, Humberto wants Elisa for who she is as a person, and not because she is the bearer of the Godstone. Just when Humberto figures out a way that they can end Elisa's marriage to the king and be together, the unforgivable happens. I thought I was misreading Rea Carson words. There was no way this could be happening, and I will leave you with that cliffhanger. There is another character that I loved, Lord Hector. He’s the king's personal guard. Hector is one who doesn't trust easily. I got a feeling about him and Elisa, but I will have to wait and see how this comes together in the next book. I highly recommend The Girl of Fire and Thorns as a must read, this book is filled with action, romance, and heartbreak, just have the Kleenex ready .

Crushed Sugar is a prequel to Sugar Rush. I can't wait to read Sugar Rush. This novella was good insight to all the characters, and what the storyline will be about. I so want to read Sugar Rush now. The wicked storyline in this prequel pulled me right in, and I have to know how all this with Ophelia, Adrian, Tristan, and Martin turns out.

Ophelia's has three guys that came into her life to stir things up. Martin has been in her life since childhood. He’s the hot, gorgeous jock that all the girls drool over and want to claim, but Martin knows he's hot and just uses girls. He knows a girl’s name for five minutes in the back seat of his SUV and the next morning he doesn't even look at them. We all have known guys like this in high school, but Martin is the guy Ophelia’s been crushing on for the last two years. This is where things start getting weird as Martin becomes interested in Ophelia, and making a total idiot out of himself to be with her. But there’s two new guys that come onto the scene at Togo High—Adrian and Tristan—and there’s something strange about these two dark gorgeous guys. I just got to know what. Crushed Sugar made me hungry for more. I’m definitely going to go read the first book Sugar Rush by Kimber An. I gotta feeling it’s definitely going to be a rush of mystifying twisted wickedness with Adrian and Tristan. I recommend Crushed Sugar as a must read!

Megan is a Draicon Shadow wolf. She can turn invisible, which isn’t normal Draicon powers. This causes the others to fear Megan's kind.

The Draicon council has put all shadow wolves in prison on Shadow Island. There’s no way Megan can raise her two twin cousins in this prison. She escapes and is on the run with her two seven year-old cousins, Jillian and Jennifer, trying to get to a safe house. Gabriel—an Enforcer working for the Draicon council whose job is to go after runaways—brings them back to prison. Gabriel is gorgeous and sexy and dangerous. He carries a dark secret, which means he can't claim a destined mate, because she'd become one in power, spirit, and body with him. Gabriel’s okay with this, until he meets Megan. She’s beautiful and has a few secrets of her own, but the one person she fears the most is Gabriel. As fate would have it, these two are destined to be mates, but neither one is ready to surrender their fears, trust issues, or heart. If they can overcome, their love has the power to set all the shadow wolves free.

The Shadow Wolf is a steamy, hot romance, but it’s also a heartwarming love story. Gabriel and Megan had me biting my nails for them to get together. And another thing I love about Gabriel is seeing his love for the twins. It just makes him even sexier. The Shadow Wolf is a beautiful love story that I would recommend as a must read for all who love Paranormal Romance. I also love the book cover and there is a novella at the end about Guy and Kayla's love story.

WOW! I finished The Marked Son thirty minutes ago and my heart is still racing. This book is amazing. It’s like I took off on the most fantastic paranormal fantasy adventure ride, and still haven't touched ground.

The storyline and plot just don't quit. It keeps taking you higher and higher, and just when you think you’ve reached the top, Shea Berkley gives you another awesome shot of adrenaline. Shea Berkley has definitely got an imagination overload going in this story. The Marked Son had me laughing, crying, angry, heartbroken, and my favorite, swooning :)

Dylan is one hundred percent blow-your-mind awesome guy material. Dylan had my heart breaking for him when his mom abandoned him, and his mess-up life. But now that he founded Kera, the girl of his dreams, who’s shown Dylan who and what he really is, there is no sacrifice Dylan won't make to love and protect her in order to be with her. Kera is from Teag—another dimension—and she’s a head-strong, self-assured girl. And when she sees Dylan, she knows he's her forever love and white knight. Dylan’s two best buds, Leo and Jason, are right by Dylan’s side on this wild, magical adventure. Jason is a wild card, he had me in hysterics with his witting mouth and take on the world. Leo is laid back, easy going kind of guy, but he’s smarter than he seems, and when he meets Lucinda, I laughed so hard I cried. Shea Berkley did a jam-up job describing a guy like Leo in this kind of predicament. I could just see poor Leo wanting to find a rock to crawl under. I love both these guys. They’re funny, terrific , beautiful, and this thing Leo has going on with scary, sensual, sadistic Lucinda, I can’t wait to see more of them!

I wish I was as brilliant and talented a writer like Shea Berkley in order to write this review. I'm just not putting into words how amazingly beautiful this book is. I highly recommend you read The Marked Son. And I’d like to thank Shea Berkley so much for writing Dylan and Kera's story and Entangled for Publishing this Awesome book!!!

Blood ( Mercian Trilogy #1) by K.J. Wignall

(My Thoughts)     5  STARS!!!!!
The beginning chapters of Blood sent chills up my spine as Will described what being a vampire is like for him. K. J. Wignall has given a fresh and newly twisted meaning to being a creature of the night. The storyline in Blood is fantastic. Sixteen-year-old Will has existed seven hundred and fifty years. That's a long time to wait to discover what his destiny is, and to fulfill it. Will is strong and charismatic—also deeply intimate, he stole my heart. Eloise is independent and tough. She’s a determined sixteen-year-old, and nothing is going to stop her from being with Will. They’re each other’s destiny—a destiny that takes them on a dark, mysterious adventure to discover why Will was turned into a  vampire to fulfill his destiny. And what Lorcan Labraid, the evil of the world, has called Will to do. There’s plenty of mystery in this Paranormal Fantasy of who, what, how, and why, but I’m not going to spoil the thrill. I do have to say  K.J Wignall did an amazing job on Will and Eloise’s characters. Their relationship is perfect, like two pieces of puzzle fitting together to become a beautiful picture. I highly recommend Blood as a must read!

( My Thoughts)    5 Stars!!!!!
Lost really surprised me. The storyline is powerful and deep. The plot is original with what’s happening with this inhuman race of Light Hunters and Shadow Hunters that live among the humans on earth. And Adam is the answer to everyone's problems.

Adam was Kidnap from his parent's—who are Quinchu of the Light Hunter’s race—as a child by Salvatore Bruno, who raises Adam in the human world. Adam's character is strong and he’s good looking. The quite type, which I have a weakness for, so of course I fell in love with him. He also has a magical power which causes him to live an isolated life. But then he meets Bobbie, and Adam's power is pulling him to Bobbie, a desire he can't say no to. And he doesn’t understand what makes Bobbie so different. Bobbie’s character I also fell in love with. She’s a strong-willed, tough marine, but she’s also a classy lady. That's a good combination in my book. She has come home from the war in Iraq, which has left her body with injuries. Bobbie’s not looking for another war, but she finds one with her heart when she meets Adam.

The romance between Adam and Bobbie is steamy and hot, but Adam's love for Bobbie will go against his destiny—the destiny that means everything to the Light Hunter race. They’ve been searching for him for the the last twenty years. The Shadow Hunters are enemies to the Light Hunters, and they have their own plans for Adam and his unique dark power that doesn't include Bobbie. Christopher is another character that I started to really like, but just got a glimpse of in this first book. Christopher is the son of the head Shadow Hunter and doesn't like the way his father rules the Shadow Hunter race. This is where the second book (preview of second book at the end of Lost) "The Claimed" starts up with Christopher challenging his father. I'm looking forward to this next book to discover who Christopher is. I highly recommended Lost in the Sin Hunter series as A must read!

Fury (Fury #1)

The first book in a paranormal teen trilogy featuring three beautiful, mysterious girls wreaking havoc on a small New England town.

Fury has one of the most wickedly twisted storylines. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. There are 352 pages, and none of them slowed down. I was on a thrill ride all the way to the end. I can't wait till the second book in the Fury series.

This story centers around seven teenagers. Em, JD, Chase, Gabby, Zach, Drea, and Sasha. Every one of these characters are amazing. Elizabeth Miles didn't slack on any of them. Each one was strong and well-developed in their own identity, and I loved every one of them. Em and Chase are paying for wrong choices they made, and saying sorry just isn't going to be good enough. Chase is the poor kid that works so hard to get into the popular rich kid’s circle. As the head quarterback with the good looks and perfect body, he thought he had it made. I don't do spoilers (or I try not to) but what happens to Chase ripped my heart out. I cried over him. I just couldn't believe his punishment. But the three Furies: TY, Meg, and Ali show Chase no mercy. These three wraiths definitely live up to the phase "You reap more than you sow". Em is a beautiful, smart, and strong girl. I had to wonder how she could ever get herself into the situations she got herself into. But Em is going to be my girl hero in this Fury Series, and can’t wait to see her give some of it back. This book made my heart soar and my blood boil, and I loved every minute! lol   I definitely recommend Fury, Elizabeth Miles knows how to write wicked, twisted and Cruel. It’s a must read!

Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)

Half-Blood (Covenant #1)

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

(My Thoughts)    5  STARS!!!!!
Half-Blood reminded me of Vampire Academy only with a Greek Mythology storyline. And that's okay, because I love Vampire Academy. As you read Half-Blood though, there’s no way your're not going to see Rose and Dimitri in Alex and Aiden. The similarities are unmistakable. It took me reading three fourths of the novel . . .and at the last quarter of the story, I finally saw Alex and Aiden as their own characters. I didn't see Rose and Dimitri anymore. Now, with that said, I did enjoy Half-Blood and I have to hand it to Jennifer Armentrout, it’s hard to take a well know series and change the storyline around and make it your own. But she’s done it, and believe me, I will be reading the Covenant series. I do love Seth. He’s creating a problem and major tension for Alex. Seth is a terrific character. He’s a gorgeous, conceited Apollyon, and he and Alex both have a gift for sarcasm. The tongue lashing these two are constantly giving each other is hilarious. Aiden is totally opposite of Seth. He’s dark, keeps to himself, hottie badass pure-blood Sentinel. I love him, too. Aiden definitely has his hands full with Alex in more ways than one. Alex is a beautiful, tough half-blood. She just doesn't know when to shut her mouth. I like this about her, and She’s got it bad for Aiden. I love the romance between these two , but I also like what's going on with Alex and Seth. With a strong, Greek mythology storyline, steamy romance and plenty of action, Half-Blood won me over and I want more. I know you will too. I highly recommend Half-Blood. It is awesome and a must read!
